Often taken for granted, not always in the limelight and sometimes disregarded, they are the ones who shape the world. Women, as impressive as they can be, are often cast into oblivion because of their "weaknesses". However, those so-called shortcomings are what make us into the powerful women we are today.

You must have indubitably heard of Marie Curie, Florence Nightingale or even Malala. They have left an indelible mark on the various spheres and inspired young girls to follow their example. Nevertheless, I firmly believe that the ordinary woman is just as remarkable as any of those ladies. We all have to go through a plethora of hardships in our mundane life. Imagine, working in the same company for years with no promotion prospects for the simple reason that you are a woman. Even nowadays, the stereotype of women as the caregivers of children is still deeply embedded in our society.

Moreover, female athletes also earn less than men in most disciplines. Despite the preconceptions and income disparity, women continue to shine brightly all over the globe. This showcases our boundless determination and perseverance. We might habitually be characterised as oversensitive or soft-spoken. In reality, women are the epitome of tenacity, passion and beauty. Through our ardent dedication, we can accomplish everything when we put our minds to it. From nurturing children to dominating the different fields, women can do pretty much anything! In this spirit, women are celebrated each year on the 8th March in honour of their hard work and strong resolve.

A woman is much more than the roles assigned to her by society. She is strong and capable of achieving great things. International Women's day reminds us not only to pay tribute to women but respect them daily. The success of one woman is the success of all women!
